ISOC-JP とは About ISOC-JP

ISOC-JP は、ISOC の日本支部です。我々は日本国内でISOCの理念に叶う活動を行います。ISOC-JPの運営業務は選挙によって選ばれた役員が無給かつパートタイムにて実施しています。

ISOC-JP is Japan’s Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC). We conduct our activities in Japan in a manner consistent with ISOC’s principles. The administrative duties of the ISOC-JP are performed by elected officers on an unpaid, part-time basis.

ISOC-JPの事務局業務は一般社団法人日本ネットワークインフォメーションセンター(JPNIC)によって行われています。

ISOC-JP secretariat is operated by Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC).

ISOC-JP 再設立について About ISOC-JP rejuvenation

ISOC-JP は，1994年8月に発足し，IETF報告会を主催するなど，国内のインターネット普及活動を実施してきましたが，近年，支部としての活動は停滞していました．日本におけるISOCの重要性を考えた有志により，再活性化活動を実施，2012年に支部として再認定され，活動を再開しています．

ISOC-JP was founded in August 1994, and had been conducted activities for disseminating Internet; however, the chapter activity had been once stagnant. Volunteers who thought the importance of ISOC in Japan began rejuvenating activities. In 2012, ISOC-JP was rejuvenated as a chapter, then resumed activities.

ISOC-JP 再設立の経緯 History of ISOC-JP rejuvenation

  • 1994年8月 ISOC-JP 発足 (当時の認定証 Original Certificate / August 1994: ISOC-JP launched
  • 2009年 活動停滞により，ISOCより「再活性化が必要な支部」と格付け / 2009: recognized as "chapter required rejuvenation"
  • 2010年 ISOC-JP 再活性化活動スタート / 2010: ISOC-JP rejuvenation activities started
  • 2012年8月 ISOCより，正式な支部として再認定 / August 2012: re-approved as formal chapter
